The SpLuRgE

We are not the type that tends to splurge and we don't buy any of the electronics that people usually like to have.
This year, however, since Mike had found a job, and since we were getting a decent amount back from our taxes we decided to surprise the kids with something they would never expect. Our friend Jason Felix helped us make sure we had what we needed and offered to help set it all up while the kids were away.
So on the last Saturday in March, since we had tickets to the general Young Women's meeting in Salt Lake for those old enough to go. I found a sitter for the younger kids (thanks Hilary and Amy) and took the older kids to spend the day in Salt Lake.
We went shopping a the Gateway most of the day then went to the Joseph Smith Memorial building to watch the movie they had playing. The movie finished just in time to go to the broadcast. Following the broadcast (and because Mike and Jason needed more time) we went for a late dinner. By then the younger kids were tired and wanting to go to bed so done or not we were going home. This is what we came home to......
The last thing they expected to see was a 60" flat screen and surround sound. (Mike and Jason were watching a movie in surround sound so they noticed that right away) The Blue ray they didn't notice until a bit later.
Madison who was the first one to see came running back out to tell the other kids but was so excited she couldn't talk...just jump around and screech once in a while.
It was fun to see all their excited faces, and amazingly enough they weren't that tired anymore.
Since the following week was Spring break, each of the kids got to have some friends over for a movie night one night that week.
Here's a clip of some of the fun Madison and her friends had....

They are so fun! that was one of the highlights of the night. JuSt DaNcE!
