ZORB

My family had a Reunion in New Zealand this past few weeks. Because of our financial situation we were unable to attend (sad face). Here is a journal entry from my parents on one of the things they did while there.

Wednesday April 15th 2009

We started the day in Rotorua. Cherylann, Amber and Mason wanted to ride on the ZORB. It is a big plastic ball that you get inside and then they roll you down a hill. Amber and Cherylann rode in the dry one but Mason was too big and had to ride in the wet one. In the wet one you just sit in the ball and the water acts as a lubricant and you slide around inside. It the dry one you are strapped into a kind of a chair and as the ball rolls you somersault head over heals. It is actually a ball suspended inside a larger ball by things like bungee cords. When you are inside you don’t hit the ground but it is like you are floating around inside a bubble. It looked like a lot of fun and they said it was a real blast. Cherylann and Amber were a little dizzy when they got out because they were spinning as the ball spun. Mason was fine because he was just sliding around as the ball turned. Adam got a card so he could check into maybe getting a franchise in the States. It would be great for family reunions.
The balls on the left is returning to the top of the hill on like a conveyor belt. The one on the right is coming out of the zigzag run. You can see the person sliding around inside the wet ball. The one in the center is Amber upside down doing somersaults as the ball rolls down the hill.
Amber is getting ready to get out of the ball. You can see the seat she was strapped into. The man is opening up the hatch so she can get out.
Cherylann getting ready to get out of the ball.
Stop the ground from moving please.
Here is Mason after going down the zigzag in the wet ball.
Kinda makes you want to try huh!
I'm glad they all had a good time and are all home safe now. Maybe next time we'll be able to go and take our kids to the Reunion.

Aw, man! I'm sorry you had to miss that. It looks like a riot! Maybe next time you can attend, it will be even bigger and better!:)

I don't know how you beat rolling down the hill in a huge, wet ball, but you could sure try!;)
