That was until Sunday when the Young men's president (who knew we had them) asked if he could borrow them for our combined activity this week. That was all the incentive Mike needed to push the project up on my priority list. I didn't mind but Mike was thrilled with the thought of seeing them done .
I enlisted the help of Alex and Kirsti. Encouraging them by telling them that they could use it as one of their 10 hour projects for personal progress. The three of us spent all day Monday, and a good majority of the day Tuesday, cutting, ironing, sewing . . .
It took the three of us 11 1/2 hours to complete the project. We made 80 flags and 26 belts of varied sizes. The girls found out how hard it is to sew on Velcro, and to attach D rings to make the belts. But they enjoyed making them and learning to sew in the process. And they were SOO proud to tell everyone at the activity, that they actually made some of the belts that we used. The fact that they have one of the seven 10 hour projects that they need to do already accomplished was exciting for them too.
Here is everyone putting on the belts for the activity.
Now, can someone find a way to have an activity in my downstairs bathroom? We've had all the supplies to finish that for a little over 18 months now.
I may just have to find the incentive for that project on my own. Dang!

Wow. Just wow. That is a lot of work. I am super impressed by you and your girls. Way to go!
I am with you, I think spectating is the best sport...unless it is Jeremy playing soccer. I am SO all over that! ;)
Katherine~Alex~Kirsti, job well done. WOW! Your girls will thank you later in life for you teaching them how to sew.
Holy crap, again, is there anything you and your family can't do? Seriously! You amaze me all the time! Want to raise me and my kids so when we "grow up" we will be cool like you? I can't even tell you how impressed I am!
Sounds like fun! Isn't it amazing what we do for our husbands. I'm impressed that your girls are so good at the sewing machine. Grandma Rass would be so happy!
