for our vacation this year we headed to Yellowstone with my parents.
we saw LOTS of wildlife
(sorry about the sideways pictures, can't remember how to fix that)
There were buffalo everywhere and most of the time we could get a real close shot. sometimes they were so close to the car I couldn't get the whole animal in the shot. (a bit scary if you ask me) this one was about right.
the black blur right there in the center of this photo is one of the two bears we saw. The other was too far away to get a picture of. This one was only a few yards off the road eating berries. It didn't seem too bothered by the swarms of people our of their cars taking pictures.
one of the many beautiful waterfalls.
Harrisen and his dad enjoying lunch.
Another pretty waterfall. I like the bridge above it, driving over it you would never know what was under it.
these signs were in many of the picnic sites.
These cool buses were everywhere, we thought they would be fun as you can stand up and look out the top.
one of the hot pots we liked.
this mom and child deer were sitting about 10 feet off the walking trail. pretty cool.
Too bad we didn't bring anything to collect bugs for bug collections this one was HUGE. and on Mike's leg.
getting a drink from Yellowstone Lake.
this little pond was so cool full of all those Lilly pads.
Old Faithful
another hot pot with pretty colors
this one was super deep and the water was really clear. too bad a picture doesn't show depth perception accurately.
this car was owned by a tourist. We all thought it was really cool. Grandpa visited with the owner while we took pictures of his car.
another picture of his cool car.
group shot of the kids
group shot of all of us
these little critters were everywhere! and not afraid to scamper right up to you.
Madison got a cute shot of this one.
It's a tradition....we have to get a picture of Madison by her sign every time we go to Yellowstone.
We had such a good time. Thanks Mom and Dad for inviting us and Adam and Amber for the use of the cabin. It was a much needed vacation.
