Got Chickens???

We have some baby chicks at our house. They are sooo cute!
Harrisen's preschool gets eggs to hatch every year. My favorite one is the striped one. This year we have been thinking of keeping them to raise for the eggs. After having Mike be layed off for so long we are trying to think of ways to be more self-reliant. No we are not even going to consider getting any bigger farm animals. But chickens are small quiet and fairly easy to maintain. So we brought the chicks to our house when they were done with them at preschool. The kids all love having them here and have been little mother hens taking care of them. We find out tonight at a city meeting if we will be allowed to keep them. Apparently we are not the only ones in the city that want to be able to raise them for the eggs.
I've never seen chickens cuddle but these ones definitely do. They all like to huddle up next to and on top of each other to sleep. Especially the smaller black ones and the striped one.
If we don't get to keep them. . . I hope they enjoy their new home at Wades.

I love the pictures of the chicks! Are there any new developments as far as the city is concerned? I sure hope you get to keep them. It would be so awesome for so many reasons.
