A family outing at The Gateway

Since I have been working so much this month, we decided to do something fun with the kids on my first free day. I worked in the morning so we got left a little later than we planned. We thought it would be fun to ride the train down to Salt Lake and go wander around at The Gateway. Little did we know, the train only runs every hour on Saturdays. We had about 35 min to wait before the next train. Bored, hot, tired and thirsty, we will plan better next time. Finally we got on the air conditioned train,
and everyone was grateful that the train had arrived.
At the next stop, much to our surprise, our next door neighbors boarded the train. Harrisen had a great time sharing the window seat with his friend Tyler.
After wandering around for a while we let the kids play in the giant sprinkler for a while
The water was a little cold at first but everyone soon got used to it.
They all had a blast!
Harrisen wanted to see where the water was coming form, so he looked in the hole.
And got shot right up the nose by the next burst of water that came.
Bailee and Harrisen were finally done. The sidewalk was very nice to warm them up again.
But Madison was not ready to call it quits yet. She had a great time trying to catch the water in her hands and throw it on her older sisters just to hear them scream.
Finally everyone was done so they all dried off a little so we could go into more stores.
We ended the trip with an ice cream cone before heading back to the train to go home.
Everyone had a wonderful time and it was great just to be able to spend some time together. I Love days like this!

That looks like a blast. I remember those summer days when laying on the sidewalk in your wet clothes was the BEST! Somehow I don't think it would be the same as an adult!

You have such a fun family!

Looks like you had a fun time. I enjoy riding the train. Although it doesn't save much time, it's a fun adventure!
