77 years ago, at a dance for young adults, a young man named William met a beautiful girl named Jessie. Because of this and the distance that usually separated them they spent the next three years corresponding mostly through letters. Eventually the two were married and had 8 children. four of which dies shortly after birth. Among the four surviving children was my father. William Died when his children were all very young and Jessie raised them as a single mom until they were all adults. Eventually those four children gave my grandmother 26 grandchildren. Which led to nearly a hundred great grandchildren.
Monday June 23 was the anniversary of my grandparents, William Paul And Jessie Bouwhuis. In honor of this event my sister decided host a celebration of their union. We had an adult dinner and she presented us each of us (her siblings and their spouses) with a book she had compiled of their love letters, along with some photos of them. It was a great evening filled with love that we all will remember for years to come, because of her generosity.

No Way! That is priceless! How funto receive a gift like that to always have! I love reading letters from my grandpa to my grandma. He was nuts about her and it is so sweet! I love things like this. What a fun night and great celebration!
